Segmentable Nodes

Harmonic offers three types of segmentable nodes, each customizable with a full range of optical and launch amplifier modules to support a variety of applications.

The PWRBlazer HLN 3144 is the largest and most capable node in this product family, able to accommodate a maximum of four optical receivers, four optical transmitters, a fiber tray to house passive optical components, two power packs with two independent AC input buses, and two launch amplifier modules to support up to four RF outputs. A variety of configuration modules on a signal routing board makes possible a full range of segmentation and fiber route redundancy architectures.

The PWRBlazer II HLN 3142C is a smaller segmentable node capable of accommodating a maximum of two optical receiver modules, two optical transmitter modules, a fiber tray, one power pack, and a launch amplifier that can support up to four RF outputs. Like the larger HLN 3144, a signal routing board and a variety of configuration modules enable a wide range of segmentation and route redundancy architectures.

The PWRBlazer II HLN 3142E has the same outside dimensions as the HLN 3142C but more capabilities: it can accommodate a maximum of two dual optical receivers (for a total of four downstream optical receivers) and two dual analog return transmitters (for a total of four upstream transmitters), enabling a wider variety of segmentation and redundancy architectures. In addition, It has two independent AC input buses for redundant network powering and can house two smaller and more powerful power packs for improved node powering reliability.

The HLN 3144, HLN 3142C and HLN 3142E all share the same optical modules, simplifying sparing logistics.
